would it make more sense to put a weekly cap on? Reason I wonder this is that lets say someone makes 1 or 2 moves per week throughout the season, then when they get to the playoffs they have 50-75 moves available to them still. The season would be fair but lets say you make it to the playoffs in the 8th or 6th spot and all you need to do to win is swap out 3 new starting pitchers every day of the week.
If there were a weekly cap on moves then it would be even throughout the entire season & playoffs. I really can't see any negatives to a weekly cap either (please point them out if you do).
there are what 25 weeks? cap it at 4 moves per week and that would put you at 100 for the season. Although 4 moves per week sounds kinda high to me.

i think 100 moves is alot, might be pretty tough to go over that in a season, but heres my arguement against a weekly cap: say we set a weekly cap at 3 or 4 moves...i make a 2-for-1 trade that goes thru(1 move), i promote a minor leaguer or add a FA to fill that empty roster spot(2 moves), then pujols announces his season-ending elbow surgery and goes to the DL, and i use my last move of the week to add pujols's replacement...i know this is an unlikely series of events, but my point is i might not make a single move for a month and then need to make 4 or 5 or 6 in a week, for random reasons that dont have to do with getting 15 pitching starts in a week...if its the balance of the playoffs you're worried about, maybe make a weekly cap just for the playoffs and everyone will just have to be aware of it

I do think that 100 moves is too much. But I wanted to have some sort of cap. I didn't want anyone complaining on not getting enough moves. I don't think we should do weekly because too many things can go wrong in a week. How many moves do you think we should have?

i dunno, maybe 75...i dont really have a problem with leaving it at 100, if people want to stream pitchers thats their decision, they can only do it to a certain degree, and technically we can all do it to the same degree, so i dont have a problem with it

I don't have a problem with 100 moves. I would hate to see a situation where someone didn't have enough moves left to bring up their September call-ups. This year should give us an idea of what would be a good limit for the future and perhaps we could adjust if needed.

i like your idea bopats, we can agree on a cap, whether its gonna be 100 or 75 or whatever, and at the end of the year we'll have a better feel for how well it worked and can tweak accordingly
